Summer Heat / Uganda

Well - we broke records this summer for # of days above 109 degrees -- 43...and of those 32 were above 110 -- ugh. It was a long a hot summer. Cheryl did get out of the heat for a bit -- but swapped it for a different type of heat (Humidity Laden) in Uganda, Africa.

Cheryl led a team of 6 from our church to an Aids-Orphanage in Mbale Uganda for 13 days. They were delayed in getting to and from Africa with missed connections, train rides, housing issues, and flight cancellations - however through it all God did dome wonderful things in Uganda and she and her team got to be a part of it.

They basically spent 10 days ministering to the kids in the orphanage, the families in and around the village of Kaminkoli, did Awana programs, fed the hungry, and had a crusade together with many villagers in the area. They saw several people accept Christ as their Lord and were moved in their own lives through the experience.

After coming home and resting for multiple days (since it took them over 70+ hours to finally get home...they praised God for the opportunity to be a part of what he was doing there in Africa.
